Twenty-one years ago I was dragged to a meeting by my best
friend at the time, David Collins. I walked in skeptical, when I walked out my
life would never be the same again.
Is network marketing worth it?
Personally, and emotionally.....YES!
Financially? Only if you MAKE IT!
Let me explain. The last twenty years have been an unbelievable adventure for my
family, and myself. Network marketing allows you to live a life of significance.
Other than the ministry I can think of no occupation, or profession that allows
you the emotional, psychological, personal fulfillment of network marketing. We
all have the opportunity to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many
people, because of Network Marketing.
I have said many times, the two biggest benefits of the business are without
question:
#1 THE PERSON YOU BECOME, through the personal
development aspects of this business.
#2 THE FRIENDSHIPS YOU DEVELOP
MLM FRIENDSHIPS
I was sharing with my friend and longtime business associate Roger Wagers a
couple of weeks ago. One of our distributors is going through a major battle
with his health. He is a tremendous human being who we both love and respect
very much.
When he and his family suffer, we suffer. If it weren't for this industry, we
wouldn't have the pleasure of knowing this gentleman and his family. However we
also wouldn't have to endure the heartache that we feel as he battles his
personal health problems.
What exactly am I trying to say? This industry neutralizes itself from a
friendship standpoint. Yes, you will experience many more meaningful times with
your fellow men and women because of this business. On the flip side, their will
be those you love who will turn their back on you and let you down, there will
be personal and family crisis that you will live through with many of the
families within your organizations.
I guess the bottom line is, when your people suffer, you will suffer. When your
people rejoice, you will rejoice. You must learn to appreciate and savor the
good times, and during the tough times understand, that you can't have one,
without the other.
MLM PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
I wrote an article in January of 2000 that was recently published in the April
2001 issue of Cutting Edge Magazine. The title of the article was "How to
Guarantee Your MLM Success" but it was all about mentorship and the
personal growth aspects of our business.
This is were you all have the opportunity to come out way ahead. As I stated
earlier I believe the number one benefit of this business is THE PERSON YOU
BECOME.
In the above mentioned article I talk about how it is possible for many people
to become financially well off in our industry and still miss the number one
benefit. Unfortunately, some people do the business WITH THE SKILLS AND
ATTITUDES THEY CAME INTO THE INDUSTRY WITH, they never develop new skills and
attitudes and thus never EXPERIENCE the number one benefit of the business.
Do you want to absolutely, positively guarantee that your MLM experience will be
worth it? Then take advantage of all the personal development training this
industry offers.
How do you know if you are growing? How do you know if you are maximizing your
personal development potential? I am going to give you a GOLDEN NUGGET here that
will absolutely positively tell you if you and members of your downline are
maxing out your personal development potential.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT GOLDEN NUGGET
I have watched literally hundreds and hundreds of people go through this
process. ALL and I mean ALL self made Network Marketing Super Stars make a habit
of listening to cassette tapes daily! Most have also developed a love of books
and reading, key word being DEVELOPED.
Those that miss the greatest benefit of this business, those who do it with the
skills and attitudes they came into the business with, seldom read books, or
listen to cassettes, unless of course they are the one speaking on the cassette.
Listen to tapes, even if you don't enjoy them...UNTIL YOU DEVELOP A TRUE HUNGER
to listen to audio tapes! I have watched this process occur in individuals
hundreds and hundreds of times. YOU MUST DEVELOP THE HUNGER for audio tapes.
When the HUNGER has been developed you or your downline member, will be
maximizing your personal development and growth potential in this business.
Until the hunger is developed you are not operating at even 20% of your true
potential. I know this, I believe this, I have experienced this for 20 years!
In 1998 I did a Training Program called "Programming Your Mind for Success."
I have received more cards, letters, and personal phone calls regarding this
series, than any I have ever done. It truly is life altering if you are ready

MLM FINANCIALLY
10 REALITIES OF MLM INCOME
#1 Most people come into the Industry for the Money. They stay for the personal
growth, friendships, and in some cases, the products.
#2 Most MLM Compensation Plans don't make financial sense. Granted, Marketing
Plans alone, don't make you successful. 100% of zero is zero. You must perform
in order to get paid. However most people get involved in a network marketing
program as a recommendation from a friend or family member, not because the
numbers make sense.
#3 If most distributors would stop and figure out exactly what they have to do
to earn a $300 check, a $500 check and a $1,000 check with most marketing plans,
it would scare them to death.
#4 As human beings, distributors naturally want the greatest rewards with the
littlest amount of effort possible.
#5 Don't be impressed with ANYONE earning $10,000 a month in this industry!
"Even a blind hog, finds an acorn every now and then" Be impressed by
the number of people they have helped earn a $10,000 monthly income.
#6 Emotional loyalty is greater than the desire for financial gain. (For a more

#7 Most people settle for their MLM program becoming a good tax right off and
great positive social experience.
#8 Most people GIVE UP ON THEIR MLM DREAMS far too quickly.
#9 The only way anyone can earn $10,000 a month with an opportunity during their
first 90 days is to bring a large organization of people with them or be
involved in some type of money game or scam.
#10 If it looks to good to be true................
From a purely financial standpoint, MLM makes no sense unless you make it -- you
don't have to necessarily make it big, you just have to make it.
Granted there is no better financial vehicle to create passive, over ride,
royalty income than Network marketing! PERIOD!
I know some people that truly only WORK THEIR business about 5 -7 hours a week.
They are earning about $1,000 a month and think they are a failure. How
ridiculous is that? How much money would you have to have in the bank at 8%
interest to draw a $1,000 a month in PASSIVE INCOME?
We all need to have a reality check from time to time. If you want to make more
money in MLM the formula is real simple. BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE!
However, if you want to make an extra $200 -- $400, unless your company has a
Hot product that can be easily retailed, there are a lot easier ways to create
extra cash flow for your family. Sell tools at the flea market on weekends or
something!
As most of you know, this industry has made me a millionaire, but my focus has
never been the money. I simply believed that if you developed yourself first,
and became the best leader you could be...the money would come.
The Industry is full of "Heavy Hitters" who hit it big once, and have
spent the remainder of their career trying to do it a second time. If you have
ever heard anything I have said hear this... if you miss the two greatest
benefits of this industry... the personal development and friendships... you
miss it all!
Is network marketing worth it? Absolutely! If you commit yourself to personal
growth and development and understand, nothing worth having happens over night.
If you are willing to persist until you succeed, and let nothing stand in the
way of you and your dream....there is no better way to fulfill your dreams than
network marketing.
If you are looking for a way to get rich quick...you might as well play the
lottery! IS IT WORTH IT?..YES!..BUT YOU MUST GIVE IT 100%! 90% of your results
come from the last 10% of your efforts. Stay Focused, Stay Committed, and GO FOR

Some of the greatest marketing plans of all time have started
off on a napkin. Legend has it the entire Star Wars movie sequence was first
jotted down on a napkin by George Lucas more than 25 years ago.
Your napkin-sized marketing plan may be all you need to get your business or
career on a more successful track. Start with a sentence that tells the reason
for your marketing. What is your overall goal?
The next line should tell how you intend to achieve this goal (advertising in
newsletters, magazines, on cable).
Next, write down your target audience.
Make a note of the niche you are filling. If you can't appeal to everyone--and
few of us can--which specific groups will you go for? What unfulfilled need are
you satisfying?
Wrap your napkin marketing plan up with how much you intend to spend on
marketing over time. You might pour 10% to 15% of sales back into marketing.
